🏡 NIO House Amsterdam — Europes biggest NIO house
Chinese EV brand NIO European flagship store. Occupying seven-storey building on Amsterdam’s Keizersgracht (middle of the three main canals in the old town). Opened in May 2024, built in late 19th century. Diverse spaces for relaxation and coffee, work, events, and exhibitions. 2400 m² area with the first floor being the only one with cars. It’s about lifestyle and design. Opinion: Each storey with a different vibe and colourway. From earthy tones on the lower floors to airy blue on the rooftop. Inspired by NIO’s ‘blue sky coming’ slogan. Signature drink is the mocktail “Tulips from Amsterdam”.
We visited many of them and every NIO house is a great location for coffee, co-working, and events. Their Amsterdam location: 100% visit-worthy, let alone for the rooftop view.
🍫 Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store — chocolate, but personalised
Tony’s superstore hosts the smallest chocolate factory in the world. Located in the historical cocoa trade location in the Beurs van Berlage on the Damrak (centre of Amsterdam). Location-exclusive offers, the “mega-monster-super-chocomat” and the option to make a personalised chocolate bar. Pick up a few hours later. Free entry. Opinion: Driven by a mission. Information about the wrongs in the cocoa industry and what Tony’s tries to change to make an impact can be found everywhere. Tony’s superstore is small but well-visited. Creating your chocolate from packaging to ingredients is the highlight.
A must-visit for (aspiring) chocolate lovers with a taste for creativity and conscious impact.
🚘 Zeekr Center Amsterdam– challenger premium EV brand showroom
Chinese EV brand Zeekr expands into Europe. Second showroom in Europe with Stockholm being the first. Located on Rokin, a major street in the centre. Two car models: a shooting brake and an urban SUV. Zeekr is part of Geely Holding Group. Their premium offer. Sister brands are Lynk&Co, Volvo, Polestar, Lotus. Opinion: Despite being a Chinese EV brand, Zeekr highlights its European roots and connections. Global design and R&D centers are located in Europe. Zeekr: ZE for zero, the starting point of infinite possibilities, E for evolving the electric era, KR for Krypton, a rare gas that emits light when electrified.
Only a question of time until Zeekr enters Germany. Let’s see how they score against NIO and Tesla.
