All-in-one fund and equity management — this is Carta.
Carta is a platform that helps companies manage equity and private funds in one place. It provides tools for handling cap tables, valuations, fund management, and communication with investors, making it easier than using several different apps. Carta raised $1.2 billion and just acquired Tactryc an predictive analytics tool for funds. Opinion: Carta’s integration of Tactyc enhances its ability to offer comprehensive analytics to private market investors and may replace thousands of spreadsheets (excel). A step forward to deliver on their promise “One platform. Unlimited potential”.
There is only one place in the world where such a company would advertise, San Francisco.
All-in-one project management — this is Height.
Height is a project management tool to help teams work better by bringing everything into one place. Just in October they released a new set of automation features. It can manage bug triage, maintain backlogs, and automatically update project details, allowing product teams to reduce time spent on routine tasks Height, based in New York, raised $14 million back in 2021. Opinion: By automating repetitive aspects of project management, Height is set up for the automation wave in a highly competitive market and large players.
Will Height’s automation push be enough to have a stand in the market?
All-in-one website builder — this is Framer.
Framer is a no-code website builder for individuals and teams. It aims to simplify the workflow by combining features typically found in separate applications. The promise: users can create and launch websites more efficiently without needing to switch between different tools in prototyping or design. Framer, based in Amsterdam and 10 years old, raised $61m, now trying to acquire customers in the Bay Area. Opinion: Framer is on our radar since they announced a “prompt-to-website” builder. Now the pivot to a complete website builder and AI for simple text generation use cases.
A reasonable pivot in 2024. Prompt-to-website today is a too complex use case.
