News 1: A wearable belt and a platform to collect all IoT data, Modjoul
Just in early stage, Modjoul lines up with the development of workforce care and particularly injury prevention. It is both a smart “box” on a belt and a data platform that collects, attributes and visualises data collected in a factory or a warehouse. Usecases: alerts, movement prevention, compliance in cold chain, but also theft prevention with RFID system on the box and valuable objects. Opinion: Modjoul, yes in early stage but a financing from Amazon, the Amazon industrial fund. One can imagine all prevention use cases that Amazon can use in their immence network of warehouses worldwide. Raising obviously the question of workforce control.

News 2: Bonusly, a platform for employee’s recognition
Bonusly has gathered 12,5 million USD for a “motivational” platform for the workforce. Employees can give each other feedbacks and points. Points leading to a reward catalogue and points land in a dashboard at the HR department . HR can monitor motivation of company, teams and individuals. Opinion: Bonusly displays an original somewhat very American use case. a platform to motivate employees. American? The expected positive attitude in social groups from colleges to companies. Still a very interesting model in a hybrid work environment where physical signs of feedback don’t happen in remote.

Opinion: The wearable device has been carried by over 30.000 workers, gathering a lot of data. StrongArm claims a “45% year-over-year injury reduction rate for customers, providing an average 250% return on their investment”. prevention device, it just makes sense, even if the “gathering of personal information” debate might start at that point.
