3 innovation and digital news in 1 minute. Every Monday. Episode 279

News 1. An intelligent calendar called Clockwise

Based on data and AI, Clockwise is an intelligent calendar system that reorganises team calendars to be more synchronised, productive and gain time. It is in use in companies like Netflix, Twitter, Atlassian and Asana. A bit like a puzzle Clockwise reshuffles calendars and syncs all attendants. Clockwise will move flexible meeting like one-on-ones to make space for team meetings, for example. Opinion: It might sound like an intrusive tool, and it is but it never touches “focus time” and would certainly help self-organisation. Clockwise means a new way to deal with ones calendar, with teams calendar. Blocking time with explicit purposes, the machine would then re-organise the low- priorities.

Would love to test it! And preserve focus time that is often sacrificed.

News 2. Verily, the most unknown Alphabet subsidiary

Verily Life Science is the health science arm of Google. With a broad and ambitious purpose of “convergence of healthcare, data science and technology”. And data makes a lot of sense there. Verily puts forward own Onduo app case, Onduo is data-driven care model — for individuals with chronic disease like diabetes, weight loss oder hypertension. Onduo is both for individuals and clinics. Opinion: No wonder Verily is the most unknown subsidiary of Google/Alphabet — it is difficult and not transparent to understand what they do. Well, data-based health models, advices, prevention. Onduo i8s easier to grasp — a device on skin, measurement of insulin, diagnostics.

A very good application if “big data”, but is anyone aware of Verily?

News 3. An IFTTT for finance, Personetics

Remember IFTTT — If This Then That. This is what Personetics is all about. The Israel satrt-up just gathered significant new $85m funding from private equity. Data-driven personalisation — this is the focus of Personetics, in financial services. Opinion: Based on former actions, Personetics analyses the data and produces a service/product recommendation. If your account is bound to go negative, a bank can preventively offer a consumer credit. We’ve been following Personetics for a while and presented the mechanism of it regularly. Still not with a breakthrough in Europe, but the new financing round will help.

Always very good data and personalisation showcases.
