Super, super, super! Start-ups called “Super”
3 innovation and digital news in 1 minute. Every Monday. Episode 321
News 1: Discount in an app, super!
Snapcommerce changed its name to Super, an app for discounts. In three categories: travel, commerce (price of selected brands) and cash backs on credit card. Super defines itself as a mix of commerce and fintech, with a “Super” credit card offer from Mastercard. Opinion: Super gathered over $100m for the concept. The whole thing sounds a bit “obvious” and the declination of “super” in supertravel, supershop and supercash doesn’t make it sharper. Ambivalent view: 2021 was a good momentum and now Super went in low profile. Still, inflation is a “headwind” for such offers.
Super for super deals ;)
News 2: Repair of a washing machine covered, super!
Super is a typical insurtech company — insurance but with a new twist. Super is a monthly subscription service for home care and repair. It covers any repair, new installments at home. In 3 subscription plans covering a list of appliances and systems at home. Opinion: $79,5m is the invest to build a new category. And there are prominent investors like Well Fargo Capital and the German re-assurance giant Münchener Re. Super doesn’t play with the name and always specify the URL hellosuper.com.
Super, especially for the moment where all appliances go wrong at the same time (know that situation?)
News 3: Delivery in the latest corners of Indonesia, super!
Super is a grocery delivery app — just sound normal and banal. Key with Super is the delivery to smaller populated areas in Indonesia. It very much looks like a community commerce, local suppliers, all drivers on motorbikes. Super recruits “Super agents” that sells like the Tupperware system. Opinion: Everyone knows the Grab phenomenon, transportation, delivery and finance app for Indonesia. Super is a kind of compensation to Grab, covering smaller town and rural areas that have been neglected by delivery giants, not only in Indonesia. 100 million invest with Softbank in it for that project.
Super, the Tupperware selling system continues.
