News 1. Palantir with a software for crypto “Foundry for Crypto”

Palantir is a software to gather, visualise and analyse data — above for fraud prevention of any kind (from credit card to national security). Now moves into the crypto sphere, with a software dedicated to crypto account management, with the product called Palantir Foundry. Foundry for Crypto allows for customer identification, classification of data, fraud prevention, independently for the chain used. Opinion: Palantir has changed since it went public: all products and information are publicly available. The new crypto suite is a good news for larger finance institution that need to follow strict regulation on “Knowing yourcustomer” (KYC), fraud detection, etc.

Palantir positions its software as the “data” operating system. In the crypto sphere — a big move.

News 2. Helsing comes onto the radar

Helsing pops up on the startup radar with a 100m € financing. Helsing is a software for national security: AI-based, real-time information processing, structures above all sensor information from vehicles and systems. Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify, is the investor, from his fund dedicated to deep tech and moon shots. Opinion: “Artificial Intelligence to serve our democracies”, this is the mantra of Helsing, right on the home page. It states right away the mission in an area (AI and defense / National security) where many questions come up. Palantir was and is often under pressure in this area.

Helsing, a discovery for us and worth an $100m invest from Mr. Ek.

News 3. Socure secures huge funding for users’ identity checks

450m USD is the latest investment gathered by Socure, led by Accel. Socure is a platform for predictive analytics for identity verification. It is based on the Socure Identity Graph. For document verification, KYC (Know Your Customer), risk (sorting out “bad clients”) and fraud prevention. Opinion: Socure scores users, for example for fraud prediction with 150 predictors, analysed with AI models. Furthermore Socure provides a platform with many of those use cases — the selling proposition of Socure.

Rather normal and low-key like many of those services. Here still, the US winner in online identity check.
