Cool brand On with a flagship

Swiss sports brand On opens its first UK retail store. Large showroom and physical experience section on the ground floor. Product presentation and retail area on the top floor. A highlight: a robot arm showing the movement of different kinds of running shoes. Opinion: Lower ground floor to become a community area with a space for workouts, panels and events. Overall, an interesting combination of technology, sport accessories and community centre.

Back in the UK after 17 years — a crowded Sephora launch

After leaving the UK in 2005 the French beauty retailer Sephora finally returns with a new flagship store located in London`s Westfield Centre. The 560sq metre store offers a selection of products from a massive 135 brands that can be tested live at a so-called “Beauty Hub” or virtually on a screen. Showcase with Estée Lauder. Opinion: The launch venue was extremely crowed! We went on Day 2. Interesting, trends from the digital hype are present everywhere. Sephora presents a new format for product advertising with a “hot on social media” space. The beauty version of BookTok corner in a bookstore.

At the end of the day — just another Sephora, we expected more.

What a store! Sustainable brand strategy in a store from H&M

H&M reopens its UK flagship store with lots of digital features. More high-class product presentation, very few promotions and digital screens. More tech touchpoints such as self-checkouts, QR-codes, in-store AR-games and one of Europe’s largest 4k LED walls displaying generative art work. Opinion: The “future store“ concept of H&M does not only consist of technological improvements, but also of changes in the sustainability strategy. On top, the system H&M rental brings a more mindful approach to clothing.

Quite fascinating — it doesn’t look like any other H&M store!
