A ghostkitchen buys a robot
Circus operates 3 ghostkitchens in Hamburg and Cologne. Customers in these areas order via app, then delivery. Total funding of €17.5m gathered in 2022 and recently. And now the acquisition of cooking robots start-up Aitme. A large robot cooking pasta. Opinion: We’ve tried Aitme at the Berlin AI campus, and it’s fantastic — fast and very good pasta result. The acquisition by Circus just makes sense: the Aitme robot can produce “formatted” meals in a production chain in ghostkitchens and at high quality.
Just a pity: Aitme robot won’t be accessible for all, just a producer.

Just a playful app with quizzes, games and learning snacks. No account. Opinion: The idea of independence is a large and superb ambition. And finance does play a role. The Finstep app is well-designed for a learning streak. And no cards, accounts, ETFs, yet.

DGTAL gathered €3 million for a specific use case in the insurance industry. Decoding and structuring unstructured data in the data-hungry insurance field. On a platform and an AI. The end result and ambition is fully automated claims management. DGTAL operates with three tools: deep analytics, claim handling and policy and a fully automated claims management agent. Opinion: This is the “holy grail” of insurance companies. Do the claim management automatically. A very difficult exercise with a condition is digitalising and analysing any type of document. This is what DGTAL does, matching with policies. Certainly also built-in anomaly detection.
Today, this ambition comes near with all available AI tools.
