News 1: The Castle in Stockholm, Både Och:

The Castle is a co-working space in the old town of Stockholm. Right opposite of Kungliga slottet. The look is inspired by the Royal Palace (historical old furniture and golden decoration). “Både Och” (means as well as) is the philosophy behind, diverse people with diverse backgrounds. Opinion: The large space with (only) 280 members feels very busy, people collaborate with each other, from freelancers and startups to SMEs and corporates. And it is extremely beautiful, never seen in Europe like this! B2B Takeout: Indulging… get out of the everyday office routine and try a space for a day, before or after a business trip. In Stockholm, enter The Castle!

News 2: SOLSTRÅLE from Ikea:

SOLSTRÅLE (“sunbeam”) is a solar cell service from Ikea with solar cell installer SVEA Solar (not the bank). Started in Sept. 2019 in Swedish metropolitan areas, now extending. It is a bundle of instalment, support, planning and financing of solar cells, adding an interior design service for one room for free. In Germany also started as service for photovoltaics in Jan. 2020 with Solarcentury Microgen. Opinion: SVEA Solar also started an electricity supplier SVEA Energy for green energy. They started in Sona (Stockholm), the same area where the Vattenfall headquarter is located. The recent funding of SEK 100m (10m€) in February 2020 will help to extend the offer. B2B Takeout: Ikea is expanding to new areas like solar cells and new smart home products (Home Smart). We expect Ikea to include an electricity plan in this new smart home initiative.

News 3: Skate at P.U.S.H!

P.U.S.H is a skatepark / co-working space / retail store by UNHCRs refugee program in the center of Stockholm. Skate and work at the same space! It is located on the second floor of Gallerian shopping center. The revenue goes to refugee programs. Opinion: There is no real business case behind this space (social purpose!). It revitalises the second floor of Gallarian shopping center, which currently is almost completely without stores. Seems to be part of a wider concept of Gallerian, with a lot of pop-up stores in the shopping center, from NA-KD and Dashl to Tullamore DEW. B2B Takeout: Pop-up stores and new concepts can be part of a strategy to revitalise dying shopping centers. Also, new and interesting concepts can be tested easily by opening pop-up stores. Grab a skateboard and think about new ideas.
