Carrot Cart plugin to organise and compare products in online shopping carts

Carrot (or Carrot Cart) is a browser plugin that saves and organises items shoppers add to shopping carts in online shops. Works on all online shops because Carrot scans for the “add to cart” action the website performs in the background. Items are then stored in the Carrot Cart and in a pop-up window Carrot shows prices of the same item in other online shops (they call it “Deal hopping”). Opinion: Carrot organises carts and items by store and lets shoppers make their own folders. A shopper looking for furniture from different places, can create a “furniture” folder and compare prices and styles using Carrot. Online shopping carts are often left abandoned, Carrot aims to make shoppers return to abandoned carts, after organizing and comparing prices.

The startup, founded in 2021, is based in New York.

Papaya Global Payroll management tool

Papaya Global offers payroll and human resource software tools. The main product is an end-to-end tech platform to manage salary payments. Connections to other HR tools and export of reports for analysis e.g. of spendings by country. Plus an app for employees to track working hours and overtime and download payslips. Opinion: Papaya also offers additional services around payroll and HR like a work visa assistant and health insurance that Papaya customers can offer to their employees. Founded in 2016 in Israel, now based in NYC with $445m funding (first female-led Unicorn in Israel).

Payroll for employees and contractors in 12 currencies and 160 countries (that’s why they call themselves Global).

Spinach AI assistant for Agile project management

Spinach.io is an AI Scrum (agile project management) Master for development teams. It joins meetings, manages the scrum board and helps run the sprint. Can be integrated into all kinds of tools, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack and more. Founded in 2022 in Atlanta and backed by Y-Combinator. Opinion: Spinach saves time by writing meeting summaries and managing simple tasks of a project manager like updating status in project management tools. Also writes stakeholder reports. Spinach is a simple add-on tool rather than a product, based on AI.

A virtual assistant is the Scrum master for agile project management.
