3 start ups from already successful founders — very promising!
3 innovation and digital news in 1 minute. Every Monday. Episode 299
News 1: Circus founded by Nikolas Bullwinkel (Flink Co-founder)
Circus is a fast delivery app for freshly cooked meals. Delivers (mostly vegan) dishes from ghost kitchens (bowls, pasta, pizza, salads, sushi, drinks) within 30 minutes. Currently in test in Hamburg Ottensen and St. Pauli. Opinion: Ghost kitchens provide a new angle for the existing food delivery market. But it will be very difficult to compete against Lieferando, Wolt and others. Could make sense to stand out with a different range of products, focus on vegan dishes.
Love the vegan approach!
News 2: Project Eaden by Hubertus Bessau (MyMüsli Co-founder)
Project Eaden develops technologies for the production of meat alternatives. Already produced their own meatless steak and raised $8m from Creandum in the seed round on 30.06.2022. Opinion: Going into an ever-expanding market with a broadly applicable technology offers a lot of scaling potential. Funding is a reputation for the idea and exciting to see if the technology establishes itself.
Love the vegan approach here too!
News 3: Re:cap by Paul Becker und Jonas Tebbe (LIQID founders)
Re:cap offers cash flow based loans for subscription based businesses. The expected future revenues are available to companies earlier. Re:cap raised €13.8m in the latest funding round on 11.04.2022 ($128m in total). The previously founded start up called LIQID is a digital private bank and wealth management. Opinion: Re:cap fits perfectly into the subscription era. It is not a new invention, the same model is known from the USA, for example Capchase. It remains exciting whether Re:Cap can hold its own in Germany, also against corporate lenders like Auxmoney.
