Three Barcelona-based startups that have huge ambitions. Expending, expending, expending.
3 innovation and digital news in 1 minute. Every Monday. Episode 319
News 1: Paack, scheduled parcel delivery service
Paack is a new parcel shipping company. The twist: scheduled deliveries, customers choose when to receive their package. This leads to a 96% successful delivery rate on first attempt. Opinion: The value proposition is higher customer satisfaction by deliveries arriving when it’s convenient for the customer. Also promising less carbon emissions, more parcels delivered on first attempt = fewer tours for the delivery vehicle.
Big challenge, building a new parcel delivery service in competitive market with giants DHL, Amazon, FedEx etc.
News 2: TravelPerk, a software for travel and expense management
Travelperk is a travel booking and expense management software. Companies can set travel policies for employees and employees book flights, trains, rental cars, accommodation etc. with the software. Opinion: Business trips are saved as a “collection” with all bookings and reservations for that trip collected centrally.
New: a partnership with accounting software Pleo. Travelperk travel expense management is integrated into Pleo.
News 3: Factorial all round HR software from talent acquisition to off-boarding
Factorial offers automated solutions for HR along the whole lifecycle of an employee. Processes like time management (time off, time tracking, shift management), talent management (employee performance, talent acquisition, on- and off-boarding, goal tracking) and legal & finance (payroll management, expenses, electronic signatures). Opinion: Really, all around the whole employee life. With big ambition of being the one HR software companies need. For this ambition, Factorial raised a $120m series C funding in October.
